Come and enjoy Holland’s beautiful nature from horseback on our horse riding tour!
Our stables are all about an hour’s drive from Amsterdam. This amazing trail ride takes you through the forest of the Veluwe or the beautiful dunes in North Holland. Our horses love these outings as much as we do! With rides available for every level, anyone can experience this magical activity!
We will pick you up in Amsterdam and will drive you one hour to the stables. After meeting the horses and your guide, we will tack up together and we will fit you with a helmet and half chaps. In a small group we will ride through the dunes on the Dutch coast or the beautiful forests of the Veluwe. For very experienced riders we offer to include a nice gallop on the beach! The ride typically lasts 1,5 hours, depending on the weather and riding level of the people in your group. A cold drink and a snack after your ride are included with your booking. The time of the ride depends on the availability of the stable!
We offer 30% discounts if you have your own car or can use public transport! (so excluding transport from Amsterdam)
We ride year-round and this tour can be booked up to 72 hours in advance. Kids should be at least 12 years old and all riders should be under 85 kg / 188 lbs. Make sure you bring suitable breeches/riding pants and closed shoes (preferably with a heel). Jeans will often give a nasty rub! We will provide a safety helmet and half chaps. Due to the nature of this activity we do require that you sign a release prior to the ride.
If you require transits from Amsterdam, we need to have at least 2 – 3 guests participating in the same ride. If you are in for a self-drive or if you can get there by public transportation + taxi we do not need a minimum amount of people. (This also comes with a discount of 30%!). Best would be to include a friend or family member to join the ride, we take beginners too! But if you are just one person looking to book, including transits we have another solution:
We do offer horse riding as an option with our Island tour. The Island tour is a full day tour to Texel Island and is wonderful for non-riders accompanying the horse lovers too. We visit beaches, go seal watching and discover quaint historic villages. The rider can join the party for the rest of the day as well!
For every rider we need: name, age, height and weight a well as a very detailed description of recent riding experience. Most stables will test the experience prior to going out on the trails.
If riders of mixed experience want to join in the same trail ride, the ride will be adjusted to the least experienced rider.

Trail rides / hacks
The ride will be adjusted to the least experienced rider in your party. for those of you wanting to join a faster pace: the stables do require plenty of recent riding experience if you want to join the faster groups. Most rides last 1,5 hours. We need to drive a good hour from Amsterdam + be there well in advance to prepare. Count on a 5 hour trip total!
We ride year round and dress for the weather, so no rain checks unless there is an official severe weather warning.
Lessons
Of course we can arrange for lessons too! The lessons will be given by a licenced trainer. We ride in English saddles only. A private lesson is usually 30 minutes.
Carriage rides
We can arrange for carriage rides through the forest for small and big groups. Do you want to learn how to drive a pair of Friesians? Are you looking for a leasure drive including a pic-nic? Let us know!
If you have different levels in your party, you will ride together in the least advanced group. The difficulty of each ride will be adjusted to the least experienced rider in the group. All intermediate and experienced riders will be asked to demonstrate their skills in the arena prior to the ride.
