On our Keukenhof Dutch Highlights tour, a full day private tour, you can decide the destination of the afternoon! We start with the world renowned spring flower exhibition at the Keukenhof: Millions of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths display their vibrant colors in this huge landscaped garden in English style.
As we start the day early we beat the crowds and can wander the park at leisure to enjoy the many flower exhibitions! Our next stop is a leisure drive through the country side, stopping for scenic photo opportunities of villages and windmills and seeing the typical huge fields of flowers. We will have time for lunch at a delicious local restaurant.
After lunch it is up to you where we are going. Would you like to the enchanting castle “de Haar”: the biggest and most beautiful castle in the Netherlands? With its history dating back to the middle ages, Baron Etienne van Zuylen rebuilt the castle to entertain and impress in the late 1800’s: famous guests from all over the world enjoyed their summer visits. The castle and its English gardens have been beautifully preserved!
Or would you prefer to visit the enchanting town of Delft and the famous Royal Blue Delft Pottery factory? With its canals, gables, and towers, Delft is extremely picturesque. Although the town is a lot smaller than Amsterdam, it is just as pretty (and most important: with less tourists). Delft is home of the world-famous Delft Blue pottery and a visit to the factory, where you can see the process of making the beautiful pottery, is included.
If you would like to see windmills in the afternoon, we could visit either the Unesco World Heritage site Kinderdijk or the world famous Zaanse Schans windmills.
